Peña L. Bedesem is an Assistant Professor of Special Education in the School of Lifespan Development and Educational Sciences. Prior to earning her Ph.D. in special education from the University of Central Florida, she worked elementary and middle school students with mild to moderate disabilities in a variety of settings including self-contained, resource, and inclusive classrooms. At Kent State University, her research focuses on evidence-based practices for students with mild to moderate disabilities. Specifically, she is interested in how mobile technology can be leveraged to enhance instruction and support behavior in school-based contexts. Dr. Bedesem is on the editorial board of The Journal of Special Education Technology and is a co-founder of the International Consortium of Mobile Phone Behavior.
